The OpenEmbeDD full platform package contains the Eclipse platform 3.4.1 and as such requires Java 5.

OpenEmbeDD tools can also be installed with the Update Manager, within an existing Eclipse, following the install_wiz.gifupdate steps.

IMPORTANT: as the Eclipse download site said in one of their note, Windows users should prefer the 7zip utility to extract the OpenEmbeDD bundles on their computer.
